Rare set of six vintage Meito China 8-inch plates. Expertly crafted in Japan between 1921 and 1939, these plates feature a vibrant, hand-painted abstract geometric pattern in striking red, black, gold, and white. This bold artistic style beautifully anticipated both the Art Deco movement and the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, showing a beautiful fine translucency when held to light. The reverse features the green triangular factory backstamp and an incredibly rare, hand-applied exotic calligraphy script registry mark from a pre-WWII custom luxury export order. Part of the backstamp photo is blurred to comply with platform image policies. Full unredacted photos and provenance details can be provided upon request. Pristine vintage mint condition.
